Last weekend, I visited one of my favourite old Manchester haunts. I was very surprised by what I found.

When I lived in Manchester a few years ago, I was incredibly lucky to be right next to a sprawling country park, Clayton Vale. Yes, a whole country park just outside of the City Centre! I would spend every lunch break there and take long walks along the River Medlock on summer evenings surrounded by rabbits, nuthatches and the dense tree canopy that left shadows of green on my skin.

A friend and I decided to take a trip down memory lane (with a picnic basket) last Sunday.
