I have a confession:
I’m a faffer.
A dilly-dallier and a procrastinator. As soon as a writing deadline approaches, emptying the dishwasher sounds incredibly tempting.
I currently have just over 12 weeks to turn in the first draft of my fifth book. Yet here I am… writing a blog post.
This year, I’ve taken my sweet time getting words on the page as the book contains an incredibly emotive subject matter that has been tricky for me to write about - more news on that soon. But with NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) coming up very soon in November, I’m feeling spurred on to get my fingers blurring on the keys. With my head firmly in the book-o-sphere, I also wanted to share some insights into the publishing industry that I’ve learned over the past few years since The Wheel hit the shelves.
Below is a Q&A of the top questions I get asked as a writer. So whether you’re in the middle of writing your own novel or you’re just curious about how all *this* works, I hope this is a very helpful post for you! (It's a long one so buckle up)
Grab your notebook, and let’s get going!
