I love connecting with Brigid all year, but especially at Imbolc. This past Autumn Equinox I made a few batches of Fire Cider and decided to call it Brigid's Fire Cider after receiving her blessing. I offer a free batch of it to members of my community at Imbolc as an offering in her name. Since Fire Cider is so healing, I thing it corresponds to her so well.
It is full of antibiotic, anti inflammatory, pro gut health and immune supporting ingredients. Mine has jalapeño peppers, garlic, onion, horseradish, peppercorn, cinnamon, orange or lemon slices, turmeric, ginger, rosehips that sits in apple cider vinegar for 6 weeks and then strained out. Legend says that during the bubonic plague outbreaks, thieves used to drink it before they entered a house to steal stuff and never got sick. When they got caught, they were asked in court how they never got sick and it was a concoction given to them by a healer.
Great read - I'm working to understand what this celebration means to me and so reading other perspectives is super helpful. Can't wait to welcome in Spring with some intention 🪻
Thank you. So much here to love. I was born on Imbolc and this year will be super special as we're looking after our granddaughters and granddog. Seems like the perfect time to introduce them to some intention-setting. 😊
Rose isn't a plant traditionally aligned with cleansing, but it could be used to bless it once you have cleansed it with garden sage, pine, rosemary, salt or sound cleansing 🦋

Oh, that sounds INCREDIBLE! I've heard of fire cider before - is it good for warding off winter sickness?

Is rose water ok to clean the altar?
